Watching without an account

You don't need to sign in to watch or answer questions.

We use an anonymous ID stored in a cookie called hv_pid to remember your progress before you sign in.

If you create an account, your progress can follow you across devices.

When you sign in

You can sign in with Google or a six digit code sent to your email.

Google sign in shares your name and email address with us. Email codes are delivered through our email provider.

We store your email address, chosen display name, episode answers, progress and votes.

If you appear on Top survivors, other people see your display name, never your email address.

Cookies

Three cookies help Havlo work:

hv_pid remembers your progress before you sign in.

hv_session keeps you signed in for up to 180 days.

hv_18 remembers that you've confirmed you're at least 18.

Google Analytics also sets its own cookies, named _ga, to count visits. They don't tell us who you are.

Understanding how the site is used

We record basic events, including when an episode is started, finished or shared.

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and understand which pages and episodes people use.

We use Sentry to find and fix errors. When something breaks, Sentry may record a replay of that session so we can see what went wrong.

Typed text is hidden in these replays, and video isn't recorded. We use the replays only to fix bugs.

Payments

If you buy a Season Pass, Paystack handles the payment.

We never see or store your card details.

Sharing your results

You can share a result card with other people.

The shared link contains your episode results, not your name or email address.

Your choices

You can watch without creating an account. Signing in is needed to save progress across devices, vote on the finale, have your vote counted for coming series and appear on Top survivors.

You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
